Paris Hilton Joins Lobsters Coaching Staff

TUCSON, AZ — August 18, 2025

In a move that’s leaving both the hockey world and Hollywood starstruck, former reality TV icon, business mogul, and surprisingly agile former hockey player Paris Hilton has been announced as the new head coach for the Tucson Rock Lobsters’ U18, U16, and U14 teams.

Yes, you read that right — Coach Paris Hilton.

The announcement was made Tuesday morning in front of a packed press conference at the Tucson Ice Dome, where Hilton arrived not in a limo, but on a Zamboni wrapped in pink glitter and sponsored by her fragrance line, "Ice Cold."

“That’s Hot” Takes on New Meaning

Hilton, 44, shocked the sports world last year after a leaked video surfaced of her dangling opponents with surprising speed and finesse during a charity alumni game in Aspen. Former NHL star and coach Jeremy Roenick even called her “the most technically sound wrist shot I’ve seen since Joe Sakic.”

Now, the Rock Lobsters, Tucson’s premier youth hockey organization known for their bold crustacean logo and hotter-than-the-desert power play, are banking on Hilton to bring both glamor and grit to their developmental program.

"I’m here to win championships and break stereotypes,” Hilton said while wearing a custom sequined Rock Lobsters blazer and mirrored aviators. “People think I’m all heels and handbags, but I’ve been skating since I was five. I’ve trained in Finland, Canada, and, like, really intense YouTube tutorials.”

From Blue Lines to Bluelight Glasses

Hilton’s coaching style blends old-school discipline with a modern flair. Practices will reportedly include traditional drills, visualizations inspired by DJ sets, and on-ice choreography designed to improve footwork and confidence.

“Edge work is everything — on and off the ice,” Hilton noted. “If you can’t dangle a defenseman and rock a catwalk strut at the same time, what are we even doing here?”

Her assistant coaching staff includes former AHL defenseman Jake “Tank” Maloney and fitness influencer Chloe Fitczgerald, who specializes in cold-plunge therapy and team TikTok motivation.

Players React

Many of the young Rock Lobster players were initially skeptical — but quickly became believers.

“At first I was like, ‘Isn’t she the lady from The Simple Life?’” said 14-year-old winger Miles “Moose” Patterson. “But then she showed us how to toe drag between the legs while quoting Gretzky. Now I call her Coach P.”

“She makes us do spin moves and then say positive affirmations,” added U16 goalie Jaz Singh. “It’s weird, but I haven’t let in a five-hole all month.”

Eye on the Future

The Rock Lobsters hope Hilton's star power can attract more visibility, funding, and maybe even an ECHL expansion team. But for Paris, the mission is personal.

“I love these kids,” Hilton said. “I want them to believe they can be anything — a hockey player, a mogul, even both. Skating is hot. Confidence is hotter.”

When asked if she had her sights set on coaching at higher levels, Hilton simply smiled and replied, “Let’s just say… the NHL better get ready for a little sparkle.”
